International & Backcountry Travel First Aid Kit
Our first aid kit has developed and evolved over forty years of back-country and international travel and goes everywhere with us. It’s a thirty year old Eagle Creek (I think – the tag frayed out years ago) two sided zip pouch about the size of a one quart zip-lock bag and everything in it is travel tested and necessary.
re-hydrant (salt packets from the pharmacy)
alkaseltzer plus cold
ob tampons (besides the obvious use they make great sterile wound packing)
chlorine dioxide/peroxide emergency water purification
bic mini lighter
mosquito saliva, bee sting & snake venom vacuum extractor
mini Swiss Army Knife (Wenger – blade, scissors, file)
There are a few other things that come and go but these are the essentials.
